MCC help Hayling Island CC celebrate their 125th anniversary
Hayling Island CC celebrated their 125th anniversary with a match against an MCC XI at Hayling Park.
Chairman and captain for the day Tom Chaplin described it as an ‘honour’ to lead out a home XI with more than 1,500 club appearances between them.

“It was heartwarming, seeing former players and club members, from as far back as the 1960s, return to watch the match and enjoy the occasion,” Chaplin remarked.
“We also want to thank all our volunteers for their efforts to put on a fantastic event.
"The BBQ and raffle helped raised over £400 towards the club’s infrastructure projects.”
Among those to donate raffle prizes were former Hayling player Andy Gorvin, currently playing for Glamorgan in the Metro-Bank One Day Cup, Councillor Lance Quantrill and The Army Golf Club, Hayling Golf Club, Wrecking Coast Distillery, Hambledon Vineyard, Lucy Payne Jewelley and Alan Rae Butchers.
