New high for Lloyd
ENGLISH under-18 snooker champion Mark Lloyd chalked up his highest break en route to a first ever semi-final on the English Association of Snooker & Billiards premier junior tour.
The 16-year-old, from Gosport, produced his best national under-21 competition result so far in the second leg at Cueball Derby.

After progressing through the group stages as one of the best third-placed players, Lloyd cleared the table for a personal best 113 to wrap up a 4-2 last-16 victory over Stoke’s Brandon Sargeant.
He then defeated Thomas Lancastle, from Oldbury, 4-3, before losing 4-2 to eventual tournament winner Lewis Gillen, from Leeds.
Lloyd, who leads the Cuestars south of England under-21 gold tour, said: ‘I had a new tip on at the start of the week and had limited practice due to college work so I’m pleased with the results.’
