Lizzy Yarnold has defended her Olympic skeleton title.

The 29-year-old, who lives in Shedfield, clinched gold thanks to a track record on her final run in Pyeongchang today.

Her final time of 51.46 seconds propelled her into top spot, with Austria's Janine Flock the only remaining athlete in a position to overtake Yarnold at the crunch.

However, the leader going into the title-deciding round produced a final run full of errors that handed the Great Britain star her second Olympic gold by 0.45 seconds.

In fact, Flock missed out on a medal altogether, with GB's Laura Deas claiming bronze.

Yarnold, who is originally from Sevenoaks, won gold in Sochi in 2014.

She went into today's two rounds of competition in third place, following two runouts yesterday.
