Hill Trophy Novice Age Group Figure Competition

Portsmouth Victoria’s artistic swimming talent delivered an impressive set of performances at the Hill Trophy Novice Age Group Figure Competition in Aldershot, with the club returning with multiple medals.
Competing in the highly technical figures event where swimmers are judged individually on compulsory movements, control and precision, the team demonstrated excellent composure. For several athletes, it was their first experience of competition, making the results even more noteworthy.
Leading the way in the 12 & Under Grade 0 category, Emily secured a bronze medal against strong regional opposition, showing excellent control and accuracy in her figures.
In the 13 & Under Grade 1 event, Elisabeth impressed the judges with her execution and consistency across all elements of her figures.

At Grade 5 level, the competition intensified, but Chloe rose to the challenge, collecting two bronze medals across the Hill Trophy and Hampshire standings. Teammate Matilda also delivered a commanding performance to take double silver in the same categories.
Figures competitions test core strength, balance and technical discipline, with athletes performing set movements in isolation under the scrutiny of judges. The Portsmouth Victoria artistic swimmers handled the pressure superbly, underlining the progress being made within the club.
With medals secured across multiple grades and invaluable experience gained by first-time competitors, it proved to be a highly successful outing and a strong indicator of even bigger performances to come this season.
