Wycombe promoted as Portsmouth conquerors Oxford are beaten in play-off final
Wycombe Wanderers have sealed the final League One promotion spot to the Championship.
Gareth Ainsworth’s side booked their place in the second tier for the 2020-21 season by beating Oxford United 2-1 in the play-off final at Wembley.

It’s the first time in the Adams Park outfit’s history that they’ll have played Championship football.
They join champions Coventry and runners-up Rotherham in moving up from League One, after finishing third in the table following the decision to decide final league placings via an unweighted points per game formula.
It means Pompey will renew acquaintances with Oxford again, after their bid to gain promotion via the play-offs fell just short.
The U’s booked their place at Wembley following a 5-4 penalty shootout victory over the Blues, after the double-header finished 2-2 on aggregate.
Anthony Stewart put the Chairboys in front with a back-post header on nine minutes.
Mark Sykes levelled for Karl Robinson’s side on 57 minutes.
However, former Pompey keeper Simon Eastwood brought down Wycombe front man Fred Onyadinma 20 minutes later for a penalty.
And Joe Jacobson stepped forward to convert the resulting spot-kick to send the Chairboys up to the Championship.
