Wrexham 'make approach' for former Everton right-back amid interest in Portsmouth defender
Wrexham failed with a £2m bid for Pompey favourite Terry Devlin during the January transfer window.
Terry Devlin admirers Wrexham are being linked with alternative right-back.
According to the Irish Sun, the Red Dragons are one of several clubs who have made an approach for former Everton defender Seamus Coleman.
The 37-year-old is available on a free transfer after quitting the Toffees after 17 years and 435 games at the end of last season.
It’s been reported Coleman turned down a coaching role with the Premier League side in order to prolong his playing career as he sets his sights on representing the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2028.
Game time will, therefore, be at the forefront of his mind as he weighs up his next move, with Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers and top-flight new-boys Hull also apparently interested.
Ryan Barnett and Manchester City loanee Issa Kabore largely shared right-back/wing-back duties for Phil Parkinson’s side last term, racking up 38 Championship appearances between them last term.
However, that didn’t stop Wrexham failing with a £2m move for Devlin in the January transfer window.

Pompey’s stance on Terry Devlin
Twenty-two-year-old Devlin has made 101 appearances for Pompey since moving to Fratton Park from Irish League Glentoran in 2023.
The Northern Ireland international was named Pompey’s player of the season last year, heightening fears he would attract plenty of interest this summer.
It would take a considerable offer for the Blues to part company with the Fratton favourite, who is under contract until 2028.
But speaking to The News last week, sporting director Rich Hughes admiited no offers or enquries had been made so far for the player.
He said: ‘The person who deserves the most credit for Terry's development is Terry. He has got himself into a really good spot and, although nothing has come yet, I don’t think anyone would be surprised if there was interest.
‘But, as a player under contract, it’s going to have to hit a level that feels acceptable to the club. Given Terry’s contract position and having security on that, there is no demand or desire to sell.
‘However, if something comes up that is a fee which is going to massively benefit the future of the football club, then it’s something which will be considered - but there is no pressure to sell. There have been no offers or enquiries as things stand.’
