Pompey travel to Sunderland tomorrow (3pm) with the former Premier League sides meeting for the eighth time in less than two years.
Something of a rivalry has built amid a Checkatrade Trophy final decided by penalties and heated play-off games that have boiled over.
There’s been little to split the two teams, either, with the Blues winning three, the Black Cats two and the other two matches ending as draws.
The Fratton faithful and Mackems alike know their clubs are punching below their weight in the football pyramid.
Pompey haven't been in the Championship since 2012, while Sunderland are into their third season in League One after finishing eighth last term – the lowest in the club’s history.
Nevertheless, both sides are again expected to be challenging for promotion this campaign and there is plenty of quality in Kenny Jackett and Phil Parkinson's respective dressing rooms.
But who makes our combined XI? We've gone for a 4-2-3-1 formation and both sides are well represented. Take a look at who makes the line-up below.

9. Attacking-midfield - Marcus Harness
Widely regarded as Pompey's most gifted player by his team-mates and fans alike. Has been playing up front by also capable of operating in the number-10 role. Already registered five goals and an assist this season. Photo: Daniel Chesterton

10. Left-wing - Michael Jacobs
His signing was regarded by many as a coup earlier this summer as he was expected to join a Championship side. Jacobs has already been promoted from League One on three occasions and is aiming for a fourth at Fratton Park. Edges his way into the team ahead of Blues team-mate Ronan Curtis, who's been out of sorts somewhat, as well as Sunderland's Aiden O'Brien. Photo: Joe Pepler

11. Striker - Chris Maguire
The Scot was a fans' favourite during his loan at Pompey in 2011-12 - especially as he scored at Southampton. He's not exactly enamoured by Blues fans anymore but it's difficult to deny his quality. Just gets into the side ahead of Pompey's John Marquis, while Ellis Harrison is injured, as well as Sunderland team-mates Charlie Wyke and Danny Graham. Photo: Malcolm Mackenzie
