It’s an overhaul of the playing squad which head coach Danny Cowley thought was necessary – and yet more could follow as the Blues remain open to offers for those who remain.
Some of those 14 have found new clubs, some will remain at their parent clubs after a short stint at Fratton, while others’ future’s remain up in the air.
So what has happened to those let go by Pompey since that crushing 1-0 defeat at the hands of Accrington on May 9? Is there more to come, with the transfer window still stuck in second gear? Here, we find out...

13. Duncan Turnbull (Goalkeeper)
The American initially joined USL Championship side Las Vegas Lights FC on loan ahead of their 2021 season, affectively sealing a permanent move away from Fratton Park as his contract drew to a close. The 23-year-old is yet to feature for his new club, though. Photo: Joe Pepler

14. Jordy Hiwula (Striker)
It was no surprise that Hiwula was included in Danny Cowley's released list at the season's end. He strangely barely featured under Kenny Jackett, while injury hampered him to just two appearances following Cowley's appointment. He's currently on the lookout for the 11th club of his career - and according to rumours, both Swindon and Northampton could offer the 26-year-old a chance to fulfil his potential.
