He’s not the first to leave Fratton Park to join up with his former manager. We’ve had a look at what happened to all 28 permanent signings Cook made during his time in PO4.
13. Romuald Boco (signed from Bharat)
Remember him? Boco has had a fairly nomadic career, having played in the League of Ireland, I-League in India and Chinese League One before joining Pompey. Left in 2016 after five games (and no goals) and now plays for Accrington. | Freelance Photo: Joe Pepler
14. Nicke Kabamba (signed from Hampton & Richmond Borough)
Another one who didn't make the grade at Pompey. Played five games in six months and joined Colchester on loan. Later signed for Havant and Waterlooville before penning a permanent deal with Hartlepool United this summer. | Freelance Photo: Joe Pepler
15. Carl Baker (signed from MK Dons)
After winning promotion with Pompey Baker joined ATK in the Indian Super League, but was ruled out for the entire season after an injury in pre-season. Now playing for Brackley Town in the National League North. | Freelance Photo: PinPep Media / Joe Pepler
16. Noel Hunt (signed from Southend)
Signed a one-year-deal with Pompey in 2016. He joined Wigan Athletic the next year before spells as a player/assistant with Waterford and Swindon Town. | Freelance Photo: Joe Pepler
