Watch: The moment three proud but provocative Portsmouth supporters are asked to leave Everton's Goodison Park - after getting under the skin of Southampton supporters

Pompey supporters head to Burnley today for their latest instalment of Championship football.

It’s nearly 13 years since the travelling Fratton faithful have been to Turf Moor, so it would be understandable if some of the convoy of cars and coaches that set off from the south coast in the early hours of this morning take a wrong turn along the way en route to the north west.

It’s easily done, despite modern technology.

But three Pompey fans appear to have intentionally veered off route to show their support for the Blues!

Indeed, it just so happens that the trio took a detour to Everton’s Goodison Park on Tuesday night to cheer on the Toffees against that lot up the road, Southampton. And they did so by proudly wearing their Pompey shirts in full view of Saints suporter who were sat in the away end near to where they were seated.

A Pompey flag also accompanied them on their visit, which was proudly unfurled when, erm, they were removed from the ground!

Their presence had clearly been clocked by travelling Southampton fans, who wasted no time in turning their attentions on the provocative trio sat among Everton supporters in the Park End Stand.

And the moment they were asked to leave was all caught on camera - not that it bothered them! Indeed, it provided one last chance to demonstrate their Pompey loyalty as they exited the ground.

As you can expect, there’s a few choice words used by Saints fans as the trio depart. But it’s worth a watch if the language used doesn’t offend you - something that more than one million people have already done after the video clip went viral on X, formerly Twitter.

On a positive note for the brave trio, at least their Goodison Park evictions allowed them to miss Southampton eventually beating Everton on penalties and progressing to the next round of the Carabao Cup.

They should also know their Pompey show of support will be warmly welcomed in Burnley this afternoon - that’s if they don’t take a wrong turn getting there!
