The Blues’ season is all but over with three games to play – after their faint play-off hopes officially ended with a 1-1 draw with Morecambe.
But one positive is they can get a head start in their summer preparations.
It’s set to be another pre-season of immense change off the field as Danny Cowley looks to re-shape his side to enhance their promotion credentials.
The club currently have 17 players not contracted beyond this term, and decisions need to made sooner or later on their futures.
Here’s what we think the club should do – and what individuals need to do to secure success next term.

21. Ronan Curtis
Curtis has unfortunately endured his worst season in royal blue this term. He's had to deal with personal issues off the field throughout and definitely deserves another season at Fratton Park. However, next term he has to prove his worth otherwise it might be his last at the club. Photo: JPIMedia

22. Michael Jacobs
His injury record this season may prevent the club from offering him a new deal this summer, but when examining the Blues' creative department, he's the best they've got. If they can work out an agreement which accommodates his fitness issues he should be here next term. Photo: JPIMedia

23. Marcus Harness
Harness looked well on his way to the player of the year award by December as he enjoyed his best spell in front of goal. However, his inconsistencies of old have crept back in as his form has massively dipped since the turn of the year. One thing is for certain, Pompey should trigger his extension clause. However, if they choose to sell him in the summer few could begrudge the decision if an adequate replacement comes in or the funds are used to bring in several players. Photo: JPIMedia

24. Aiden O'Brien
One of Pompey's easiest decisions in the summer is to offer O'Brien a new contract. He's proven to be a useful asset in the third tier and he could become the main man in attack next season. Photo: JPIMedia
