Top Premier League referee to take charge of Portsmouth's FA Cup tie against Arsenal
Mike Dean will be the man in the middle for Pompey’s FA Cup fifth-round tie against Arsenal at Fratton Park.
The top Premier League referee will take charge of Monday’s money-spinning tie that will be broadcast live on BT Sport.
Dean took charge of his 500th top-flight game last month – when Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw against Sheffield United.
The 51-year-old’s renowned for his antics while officiating games and is dubbed as a ‘celebrity ref’.
He’s also an avid follower of the Blues’ League One rivals Tranmere and was memorably spotted in the crowd celebrating their League Two play-off semi-final victory over Forest Green last season.
This season, Dean – who’s been a Select Group referee since 2001 – has handed out 106 yellow and four red cards in 23 matches.
