The Sunderland ‘Til I Die season two episode Portsmouth fans will particularly be looking forward to

It’s a series that’s been widely acclaimed by football fans up and down the country.

But the Fratton faithful will be taking particular interest in the second season of Sunderland ‘Til I Die.

The Netflix documentary will return on April 1, showing all the behind-the-scenes footage of the Black Cats’ 2018-19 League One campaign.

There will be six episodes in total, highlighting the events on and off the pitch as the Wearsiders missed out on promotion.

But the one instalment Blues supporters will be looking forward to will solely focus on Sunderland’s run to the Checkatrade Trophy final – which ended in Kenny Jackett’s side hoisting the silverware aloft.

Following a dramatic 2-2 draw after extra-time, Pompey triumphed 5-4 on penalties to claim the trophy at a sold-out Wembley.

Of course, fans will also be reminded of the nadir of Pompey's campaign when they were knocked out of the play-off semi-finals by the Black Cats at Fratton Park in May.

However, the Black Cats were beaten in the final by Charlton and are again trying to escape the shackles of the third tier with Jackett’s men this term.
