There’s no doubt the Blues have been heavily impacted by issues to key players, with Callum Lang, Conor Shaughnessy, Jacob Farrell and other vital members of the squad missing large parts of the campaign.
That is of course not how Pompey fans would’ve wanted their first season back in the Championship to go, although performances on the pitch have been impressive as the battle for survival continues. The Blues find themselves four points clear of the bottom three and sit 17th in the table ahead of a crucial run in after the international break.
Injuries have affected Mousinho’s selection all over the pitch, most notably at centre-back with Marlon Pack featuring at the heart of the defence at times, while Alexander Milosevic was brought in as a free agent at the start of the month.
But what is the current situation with the sidelined players at Fratton Park? Here’s the lowdown on every injured member of the Blues’ squad and when they could return.

5. Callum Lang
Expected return: Pre-season. The 26-year-old is the Blues’ top scorer in the Championship this term, but has been sidelined since mid-February after picking up a hamstring injury in the 2-0 win against Oxford United. 6. Jacob Farrell
Expected return: Pre-season. The left-back has appeared once since his summer move from Australian side Central Coast Mariners. Farrell picked up a knee injury in training after his only outing against Sheffield United in September before suffering a setback in January, forcing the 22-year-old to undergo an operation. 7. Paddy Lane
Expected return: Pre-season. The popular title winner is another of Mousinho’s squad to be ruled out for the campaign after sustaining a knee injury against Blackburn in January. The talented winger underwent surgery and is expected to return in pre-season. | Getty Images

8. Christian Saydee
Expected return: Blackburn. The powerful frontman missed the Blues’ games against Leeds, Plymouth and Preston with a groin injury. However, Mousinho told The News that Saydee is pencilled in for a return against Blackburn at the end of the month. | Getty Images
