After first-leg encounters in the Championship, Nottingham Forest lead Sheffield United 2-1, while Luton travel to Huddersfield tonight following a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road on Friday.
Meanwhile, two forgotten former Blues bid for an instant return to the second tier with Wycombe as the Chairboys take on Sunderland in the League One play-off final on Saturday.
As Danny Cowley’s side missed out on the top six in the third tier by 10 points, we take a look at the ex-Pompey contingency who are still in with a chance of promotion.

5. Jonathan Hogg (Huddersfield)
The midfielder made a loan move to Fratton Park in January 2011 and 19 appearances for the Blues over the second half of that season. After joining Huddersfield in 2013, the 33-year-old has had a successful period at the John Smith’s Stadium, helping guide the Terriers to the Premier League in 2017. 2021-22 appearances: 35; Goals: 2. 6. Enda Stevens (Sheffield United)
The left-back was awarded Pompey’s 2016-17 player of the season after helping the Blues secure promotion to League Two under Paul Cook. Joining the Blades that summer, he has since spent two seasons in the Premier League and is targeting an instant return to the top flight, although Paul Heckingbottom’s side trail Nottingham Forest 2-1 after the first leg. 2021-22 appearances: 26; Goals: 2 Photo: Lewis Storey

7. Sonny Bradley (Luton)
The central defender made 39 appearances for the Blues during a season-long stay in the 2014-15 campaign, before securing moves to Crawley and Plymouth. Since his switch to Luton in 2018, Bradley has amassed 155 appearances for the Hatters and netted the equaliser in the semi-final first-leg against Huddersfield on Saturday. 2021-22 appearances: 24; Goals: 3. 8. Kal Naismith (Luton)
The Scot departed Pompey after three successful years at Fratton Park in 2018, moving to Wigan before joining Luton. The 30-year-old provided Sonny Bradley with an assist in the first leg as the Hatters’ levelled the tie at 1-1 against Huddersfield. 2021-22 appearances: 44; Goals: 3. Photo: Alex Pantling
