There’s so many great locations to chose from, depending on your needs – whether that be a desire to be near the beach, the rolling country side, the nightlife or the area’s terrific restaurants.
It’s something any prospective new Blues arrival in the summer will have to explore and weigh up before committing to a career at Fratton Park.
But what areas would you expect to see a removal van drawing up and a Pompey player knocking on your door to say he’s new to the neighbourhood?
Here are 16 known hotspots which have been home to ex-players and managers during their Fratton Park careers.

13. Southsea
Back on the Island and to one of the most popular locations in the city. Southsea attracts thousands of people each year with its beach, pier and attractions, which overlook the sea. Sean Raggett once lived in the area, before putting his house up for sale last season. That prompted talk of a potential Pompey exit, which, of course, never materialised. Photo: Google Streetview

14. Sarisbury Green
Sarisbury Green is situated just south of Whiteley and west of Fareham, close to the River Hamble. While it is located near Southampton, it did house Matty Taylor during his time in the Premier League days. Photo: Google Streetview

15. Denmead
Another quiet village, which has proven popular with former Pompey players. Located north west of Waterlooville, Danny Rose and striker Ellis Harrison once used to call it home. Photo: Google Streetview

16. Anchorage Park
The area is situated on the north eastern tip of the island, and lies in between Hilsea train station and the Eastern Road. During his time at Pompey, defender Matt Clarke used to take residence in the area. Photo: Google Streetview
