There’s so many great locations to chose from, depending on your needs – whether that be a desire to be near the beach, the rolling country side, the nightlife or the area’s terrific restaurants.
It’s something any prospective new Blues arrival in the summer will have to explore and weigh up before committing to a career at Fratton Park.
But what areas would you expect to see a removal van drawing up and a Pompey player knocking on your door to say he’s new to the neighbourhood?
Here are 16 known hotspots which have been home to ex-players and managers during their Fratton Park careers.

5. Old Portsmouth
A very traditional place to live with plenty of history on the cobbled streets and within the charming buildings that stand proudly there. This quiet and picturesque part of the city was home to Christian Burgess prior to his move to Belgium. Photo: Google Streetview

6. Chichester
To the east of Portsmouth is the picturesque and historical West Sussex city of Chichester. The walled city has bags of charm, which is perhaps why Pompey academy graduate Adam Webster still lives there. Andy Barcham also lived in Chi during his time with the Blues. Photo: Google Streetview

7. Petersfield
The historic market town on the Hampshire/West Sussex border is a quiet place to take residence. It's situated 17 miles north of Portsmouth on the A3. Cameron McGeehan took residence in the town during his loan stay in 2020 and it was also a popular place for ex-Blues skipper Paul Robinson. Photo: Google Streetview

8. Ringwood
That must’ve been some commute to training every day! Well, that’s exactly what Fratton favourite Benjani used to do during his days at Pompey. The town is 42 miles away from Portsmouth and is close to the Hampshire/Dorset border. Photo: Google Streetview
