The likes of Brett Pitman and Oli Hawkins were allowed to leave following the expiry of their contracts.
Meanwhile, Christian Burgess departed on a free transfer after he agreed to join Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in Belguim.
The defender turned down the offer of a new Blues deal in favour of a new challenge elsewhere – something that Nathan Thompson chose to do a year earlier after he allowed his contract to run down.
In total, seven players – not including those on loan – have left Fratton Park since the season came to an end at the Kassam Stadium, with the club still negotiating a new deal with Lee Brown.
However, that figure could be even higher next summer, with 11 players now in the final year of their Pompey deals.
Wage cap proposals will most likely make it harder for Pompey to negotiate deals for any player they want to keep.
So here are the XI players who are now less than 12 months away from being possible transfer transfers – unless the Blues can find a way of keeping them.

1. Tom Naylor
Despite being overlooked for Pompey's play-off semi-final against Oxford, the midfielder featured 43 times this season. Contract expires at the end of next term after signing three-year deal in 2018 following arrival from Burton Photo: Graham Hunt

2. Andy Cannon
Midfielder featured 28 times for Pompey this season but scored only once. Next term will be a big one for the former Rochdale ace. Contract is due to expire at the end of the season but Pompey have the option for another year. Photo: Warren Little

3. Bryn Morris
Came from nowhere to feature in both play-off games against Oxford, with his appearances taking him to 10 outings since arriving from Shrewsbury in January 2019. Manager Kenny Jackett clearly has a lot of faith in his ability. Photo: Joe Pepler

4. Craig MacGillivray
The keeper signed a new deal in January 2019 - but less than a year later lost his place in the Pompey team. Will hardly want to remain at Fratton Park beyond this season if he remains behind Alex Bass in the pecking order. Photo: Nigel Keene
