The Blues’ away record is well documented, the second worst in the division, yet they conjured up an unlikely 5-3 triumph at Norwich – led by Colby Bishop’s first Pompey hat-trick.
Matt Ritchie and Regan Poole also got their names on the scoresheet for a priceless win which lifts them six points above the relegation zone with three matches remaining.
And here are our player ratings...

5. Connor Ogilvie - 7
Thought he had won Pompey a stoppage-time penalty, only to be booked for simulation. Another powerful defensive display from the Blues’ Mr Dependable. Good to see him reunited with Murphy for that important partnership, even if it didn’t quite sparkle. Photo: Steve Bailey

6. John Swift - 7
Wonderful shot from 22-yards so nearly grabbed a dramatic point. Grew into the game from playing deep and always so assured on the ball. Photo: Simon Roe

7. Andre Dozzell - 8 - MOM
Pompey have recruited three central midfielders this summer, but Dozzell is still performing strongly and worthy of his starting spot. Always in the right place and in the second half produced two superb covering interceptions. Never write him off. Photo: Steve Bailey

8. Callum Lang - 6
(Replaced by Florian Bianchini on 57 mins) Another devastating injury blow for the attacker, who collected an apparent hamstring issue at the start of the second half when he was fouled. Looked absolutely gutted, understandably so. Photo: Alun Roberts
