21. Shrewsbury
Steve Cotterill's already been active in the market, recruiting Matthew Pennington and Harry Chapman on loan from Everton and Blackburn respectively. However, centre-back Aaron Pierre - previously on Pompey's radar - has been linked with Swansea City. Photo: Catherine Ivill

22. Sunderland
New boss Lee Johnson set out his plans for January not long after taking the reins on Wearside. He revealed that he wants 'somebody to stretch the game in a certain position, maybe we need a bit of extra pace and power. I think that will open it up for other players to come in to it – that would be a priority'. The Black Cats are another side linked with Luke Thomas. Photo: Frank Reid

23. Swindon
John Sheridan has admitted he wants a new striker and if there 'are players available who I think would make us a better team, we’ll try and get them in the door'. Swindon will recall Matty Palmer from his loan spell at relegation rivals Wigan. Photo: Pete Norton

24. Wigan
January could prove a tricky month for the crisis club. Former Pompey loanee Viv Solomon-Otsabor, Will Keane and Dan Gardner are out of contract and could move on, while they'll lose Matty Palmer to Swindon. The Latics have, at least, recalled Callum Lang from his loan at Motherwell. Photo: Joe Pepler
