Tough conditions from Storm Darragh are expected to greet both teams as they do battle for crucial Championship points. But it’s unlikely Blues head coach John Mousinho will cook up a storm himself with his latest team selection.
A combination of improving form and a still sizeable injury list means he’s less likely to change things up, with the week between the Robins and Swansea games helping him out in that respect, too.
The Blues will likely welcome back Zak Swanson for the Bristol City fixture - but will he start? Callum Lang runs the risk of a ban if he picks up another yellow card against the Robins. Does that come into Mousinho’s thinking as he looks to secure all three points against Liam Manning’s side?
Time will tell, In the meantime, here’s how we think Pompey will line up against a Robins side sitting 11th in the table and buoyed by their 4-0 thumping of Plymouth last time out.

9. Right-wing: Matt Ritchie
The Pompey fan and true team player is starting to prove his worth after a slow start following his Fratton Park comeback. His experience and work-rate is also allowing Devlin to excel behind him at right-back. | National World

10. Attacking midfield: Callum Lang
The Liverpudlian had one of his quieter days against Swansea last time out, but he remains such an important player for Pompey. Hopefully a potential one-match ban as he sits on four yellow cards doesn't stop him putting in one of his typical Pompey shifts against the Robins. | National World

11. Left-wing: Josh Murphy
All three of the former Oxford forward's Pompey goals have come in the past four games as the winger starts to repay the faith shown in him in the summer. Murphy's proving more and more that he's a class act on his day! | National World

12. Centre-forward 1: Colby Bishop
The striker was all smiles last weekend after being handed his first start of the season following heart surgery. Bishop showed glimpses of what's to come from him, while a week between games means he's not overdoing it as he gets the nod to lead the line against Bristol City. Injuries to Kusini Yengi and Mark O'Mahony, though, means the Blues need to tread carefully. | National World
