It’s that special period when memories of Santa pitch invasions and Alan Biley heroics come to the fore once again, that period when we praise Linvoy Primus goal exploits at West Ham in honour of the birth of Christ.
But it’s also a period which has delivered the kind of bleak displays in winters of discontent to delight Scrooge himself.
So we asked you to nominate some of your Pompey Christmas crackers and turkeys and, as ever, you didn’t disappoint.
Merry Christmas!

5. West Ham 1 Pompey 2 - 26/12/06
Praise be Linvoy! If there was a time for the devout Christian to pop up with two goals it had to be over the period we celebrate the birth of his Lord and saviour! Two first-half efforts from the defender have all us all rubbing our eyes in disbelief, but they earn the points with Teddy Sheringham'd 81st-minute reply nothing but a consolation. 6. Wimbledon 2 Pompey 4 - 26/12/78
After the club's slow demise into football's basement division, Pompey finally start to win some games. By Christmas they are in the promotion shake-up with Reading and their opponents as they go to south London, with an army of fans who travel up the A3. Steve Davey. Jeff Hemmerman, Billy Wilson (pictured) and Leigh Barnard earn the win, but the Blues lose their way in the new year and finish seventh. Photo: Lemmon

7. Pompey 4 Bristol Rovers 1 - 26/12/91
One of the Pompey goals for the ages in the Boxing Day romp over Bristol Rovers. Guy Whittingham and Paul Walsh one-two their way through the Bristol Rovers defence like slalom skiers, before the goal machine applies the finish. Arguably the greatest example of one of the finest strike partnerships in the club's history. Photo: JPI

8. Pompey 4 Fulham 4 - 1/1/85
One of the most infamous games in Pompey’s history. New Year’s Day sees Fulham arrive to take on Alan Ball’s side handily placed for a promotion challenge. A four-goal first-half salvo seemingly sees the Londoner’s battered into submission, but goals from Alan Biley (2), Malcolm Waldron and Neil Webb are cancelled out as the visitors produce a shock comeback. Pompey miss out on promotion on goal difference to Manchester City. Photo: Express
