Transfer gossip: Championship rivals Wrexham eyeing late swoop for huge Portsmouth favourite Terry Devlin
Terry Devlin has amassed 25 appearances for Pompey this season, but has late transfer window interest from Championship rivals.
Wrexham have been credited with an interest in Pompey favourite Terry Devlin.
It’s gearing up to be a hectic finale to the transfer window at Fratton Park, with the Blues’ looking to be busy right up until Monday’s 7pm deadline.
Incomings and outgoings are both on the cards in the final day-and-a-half of the market, with Luke Graham and Gustavo Caballero firmly on their radar.
Other names including Tom McIntyre, Jordan Archer and more could also be heading out as John Mousinho looks to free-up space on his 25-man squad.
Championship interest in Pompey favourite
However, reports are suggesting Devlin has admirers from fellow Championship rivals Wrexham in the final knockings of the window.
Transfer guru Alan Nixon has revealed the Red Dragons have identified the 22-year-old as one of two potential right-back options as Phil Parkinson looks to strengthen.
Aston Villa full-back Kosta Nedeljkovic is believed to be the Welsh outfit’s priority but have expressed an interest in eyeing a move for the Northern Irishman should their pursuit of the Serbian come up short.
Wrexham currently sit sixth in the standings but are yet to recruit in the January window despite being linked with a number of big-money moves so far.
Terry Devlin’s time at Pompey
Devlin has been influential at Fratton Park this term, which has seen him solidify his spot at right-back fending off competition from Jordan Williams.
The former Glentoran talent has amassed 25 appearances for Mousinho’s side this term, who moved four points clear of the relegation zone following Saturday’s 3-0 win over West Brom.
The popular full-back penned a new long-term deal at PO4 in March 2025, with his fresh terms set to run until the summer of 2028.
Following his arrival in July 2023, Devlin has established himself as a firm fan favourite on the south coast, with his versatility praised by supporters.
The three-cap Northern Ireland international has registered 86 outings for the Blues during his two-and-a-half-year stay at Fratton Park and also played a key role in their 2023-24 League One title-winning campaign.
Pompey boss’ praise for Wrexham target

Devlin still has two-and-a-half-years remaining on his current terms at Fratton Park, having penned a new deal 12-months ago.
And Mousinho explained at the time why the full-back is a ‘delight’ to work with.
The head coach told The News in February 2025: ‘The contract is brilliant news and Terry has fully deserved it, because of the performances he’s put in over the last year-and-a-half.
‘It’s one of those where we brought him in as a young lad who can develop - and he’s developed into a player who can really affect things at Championship level.
‘He’s very, very easy to manage - a delight really, because he works so hard, wants to improve his game and never gives me any issues.
‘He’s a really hard worker and the way that he plays on week in, week out basis we also see day in day out on the training pitch. He’s great to work with.'
