Portsmouth relegation rivals West Brom set to sack boss Eric Ramsay after six weeks in charge
Pompey sit five points above West Brom in the Championship standings following Saturday’s 3-1 win over Millwall.
It was another successful trip to the capital for Pompey, who followed up Tuesday’s win over Charlton Athletic with the 3-1 triumph against promotion-hopefuls Millwall.
Gustavo Caballero and John Swift fired John Mousinho's troops into a two-goal lead early in the second half before Casper de Norre responded for the hosts.
While Pompey are slowly creeping away from danger, West Brom are now firmly in the relegation battle.
The Baggies suffered their sixth defeat in nine league games on Saturday afternoon as league-leaders Coventry City claimed a 2-0 triumph at The Hawthorns.
West Brom considering future of head coach
Boss Eric Ramsey, who was only appointed on January 11, is yet to taste victory in the Championship following his move from Minnesota United.
And the loss to Frank Lampard’s table-topping men, could spell the end of the former Manchester United coach’s short tenure in the hot seat.
According to talkSPORT, the Baggies hierarchy are believed to be considering Ramsay's future at The Hawthorns helm as pressure increases just six weeks after his appointment.
The report claims there is growing doubt over his position, having failed to win any of his seven matches in charge in all competitions - including a 3-0 defeat to Pompey at Fratton Park at the end of January.
Following Saturday’s defeat to Coventry, West Brom now sit just one point above Leicester City, who picked up a 2-2 draw away to Stoke City.
Eric Ramsay on West Brom future

There were boos at the full-time whistle at the Hawthorns on the weekend, with the Baggies now winless since December.
And with Ramsay so far unable to change West Brom’s fortunes, the head coach responded to growing pressure on his job.
Speaking after Saturday’s defeat: ‘It was a high pressure situation when I came in and it's still a high pressure situation.
‘It certainly hasn't been what I would have envisaged as ideal in any way. But I knew what I was coming into. I knew I was inheriting a difficult situation.
‘I knew it was going to have to turn around quick and if it didn't, pressure would come with that.
‘Of course I'm not naive enough to think that doesn't go with this situation. I'm one of those people that is able to keep myself very much in the moment and try and make sure that the group is moving forward and I'm doing everything I can in that sense.’
