Oxford eye Swansea City

Matt Bloomfield’s revolution at Oxford United continues following Saturday’s 2-1 win over Leicester City.

The U’s have been busy in the window, recruiting five new faces this month as the head coach stamps his authority on his new side.

Indeed, Pompey’s relegation rivals are expected to be active in the remaining days of the market and are believed to be targeting a raid on a fellow Championship outfit.

Football League World have claimed Swansea City defender Josh Key is on Bloomfield’s radar as he bids to sure up his backline.

The report claims the U’s are in talks with the Welsh outfit over a loan swoop for the right-back, who has fallen down the pecking order under new boss Vitor Matos.

The 26-year-old has started just three of the head coach’s 13 games in charge at the Swansea.com Stadium following his appointment in November.

It is believed Oxford have opened formal discussions with their fellow Championship strugglers over a swoop before Monday’s deadline.

The U’s, of course, sit 23rd in the standings and are three points behind Pompey and more-importantly safety.

Ipswich Town have added just one new face to their ranks in the window as Kieran McKenna looks to bolster his squad for their promotion push.

The Tractor Boys are said to be targeting a swoop on Newcastle United talent Will Osula in the final days of the window.

That’s according to the East Anglian Daily Times, who have suggested the Dane is on the promotion-hopeful’s radar as the head coach searches for reinforcements in his forward line.

It has been suggested there is hope a loan move can be agreed given the 22-year-old’s lack of game time with the Premier League outfit, as Nick Woltemade and Yoanne Wissa vie for a spot in Eddie Howe’s side.

Osula has amassed 12 appearances for the Magpies in all competitions this term, netting just the one goal and has provided one assist.
