Two wins and a draw from their past three games have allowed John Mousinho’s side to climb off the bottom of the table, while also giving the Fratton faithful renewed hope.
But after sweeping aside the challenge of Bristol City last time out, up next is the testing challenge of a home game against a Canaries side who will have had promotion ambitions at the start of the season.
Norwich might currently be falling short in that respect as they occupy 10th place in the Championship table, with their chances unexpectedly dented on Saturday followng a 3-0 loss at the hands of struggling QPR.
Yet they’ll still provide the Blues with a huge test - especially with head coach Johannes Thorup boasting the division’s top scorer - Borja Sainz, who has 15 goals from 19 league appearances already this season.
Pompey’s task has been made much harder with news that their top marksman this season - Callum Lang - will sit this one out because of a one-match ban.
But he’s not the only one Mousinho will have to be without as injuries continue to mount up at Fratton Park. Here’s who else amoung the Blues ranks will miss tonight’s game - along with the outs and doubts within the Norwich first-team camp.

7. Jacob Farrell - Out
A MCL injury has dogged the 22-year-old’s early days on the south coast, with a start in September against Sheffield United his sole appearance to date. Is on the mend and is expected to take part in group training this week. But games against Norwich and Friday's trip to Derby will come around too soon. Photo: Jason Brown

8. Liam Gibbs - Out
The midfielder has featured just seven times for Norwich this season. Only recently returned to action after suffering a muscle injury. Gibbs is now sidelined with a hamstring injury that will keep him out until the start of 2025. | Getty Images
