John Mousinho’s side will also be desperate to retain their unbeaten start to the season and give the 1,400 members of the travelling Fratton faithful something to cheer on their midweek trip to the Abbey Stadium.
The latest on the injury front is that Marlon Pack, Tom Lowery and Anthony Scully remain out. However, Gavin Whyte is back in contention after missing Saturday’s 1-0 win against Carlisle through illness.
But what can supporters expect selection-wise ahead of the game against the U’s? Here’s how we think Pompey will line up tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).
17. Sub 5: Terry Devlin
Gets the nod to be in the squad over fellow countryman Gavin Whyte because of the need to have additional midfield cover - plus the attacking options the rest of the match-day squad possess. Photo: Jason Brown
18. Sub 6: Christian Saydee
Named on the bench here, but it would come as no surprise if the explosive Saydee gets the nod over Anjorin. Photo: Jason Brown
19. Sub 7: Kusini Yengi
The Aussie got more minutes into his legs after coming on as a 77th-minute sub against Carlisle on Saturday. Continues to be an important attacking option from the bench. Photo: Jason Brown
