Portsmouth open contract talks with Fratton favourite Christian Burgess
Pompey are in talks over a new deal for Christian Burgess.
Kenny Jackett today revealed the Blues have finally opened talks with the popular centre-half, who is out of contract at the season’s end.
Pompey had previously shelved contract negotiations with their squad, a policy introduced in the early part of the campaign to ensure players focused on their performances.
However, Ronan Curtis was handed a new three-and-a-half year agreement at the start of this month.
Now the club are targeting on retaining the services of Burgess, who is enjoying a tremendous Fratton Park campaign.
The 28-year-old has made 206 appearances for Pompey, scoring 11 times.
