Portsmouth news and transfers live: keeper pens one-year deal | ex-Leicester manager giving helping hand

There have been few disapprovals following Pompey’s latest signing.

Michael Jacobs has become the Blues’ fourth recruit of the summer transfer window.

The former Wigan forward put pen to paper on a two-year deal, with the club option for an additional 12 months.

There are high hopes Jacobs will be the answer to Pompey’s problem No10 position, with the versatile ex-Derby man earmarked to feature in the role.

Jacobs could make his debut when Kenny Jackett’s side travel to Brighton in the Carabao Cup second round on Thursday.

The Blues will be hoping to pull off an upset against the Premier League outfit and reach the third round of the competition for successive years.
