John Mousinho’s men surrendered position for all three of the League One side’s goals, while they also conceded in the opening 90 seconds of each half.
Thomas Waddingham came off the bench to reduce the deficit in stoppage time with a header from John Swift’s cross, but it couldn’t mask a poor showing.
And here are our Pompey player ratings...
9. Eoin Kenny - 7 - Man of the Match
(Replaced by Ibane Bowat on 78 mins) Can hold his head high. Always an outlet on the right wing, always progressive, always looking to make things happen. Not everything came off, but the positivity was spot on. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages
10. Adrian Segecic - 6
(Replaced by Luke Le Roux on 78 mins) Plenty of chasing and harrying but given very little service and couldn’t get involved. Kept at it, though, as he always does. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages
11. Harvey Blair - 5
(Replaced by Zak Swanson on 61 mins) First half was a real mixed bag, good glimpses clouded by poor execution. Really needs to fire this pre-season, but it still isn’t quite happening for the former Liverpool man. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages
12. Colby Bishop - 6
(Replaced by Thomas Waddingham on 78 mins) Given absolutely nothing to work on, such was the disappointing lack of creativity from his team-mates. As ever, always prepared to work hard for the team, but give him service. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages
