Portsmouth unveil fourth summer friendly as pre-season plans take shape
The trip to Adams Park is the fourth pre-season friendly so far announced by the Blues
Pompey have unveiled Wycombe as their latest pre-season opposition.
John Mousinho’s men are scheduled to visit Adams Park on Saturday, July 25 (4pm) as the summer schedule begins to fill up.

An eagerly-anticipated trip to an unnamed German Bundesliga 2 side on Saturday, August 1 is also in the pipeline. In addition, Saturday, July 18 remains unallocated at present with the Blues are currently exploring potential opponents.
Pompey faced Wycombe in a behind-closed-doors friendly in July 2024, when Mousinho’s side slumped to a 4-0 defeat at their Copnor Road training ground.
The sides then faced each other in the FA Cup third round in January 2025, with League One Wycombe inflicting a cup upset by registering a 2-0 success.
Regardless, the Blues still went on to finish 16th in the Championship, securing their survival with two matches to spare to mark a successful return at that level after a 12-year absence.
Now managed by Michael Duff, the Chairboys finished a disappointing 11th in League One last season, having lost to Charlton in the play-off semi-finals in 2024-25.
However, it doesn’t appear there will be a reunion with Pompey title-winning goalkeeper Will Norris, who seems to be on his way out of Adams Park, although they have just signed Matt Macey.
Pompey have announced a flurry of pre-season fixtures this week to join the trip to National League Aldershot (Wednesday, July 15) in the summer schedule.
Mousinho’s men are to face Woking, managed by former striker Jermain Defoe, on Tuesday, July 14 (7pm), while National League South team Farnborough will be the opposition on Wednesday, July 29 (7pm).
Meanwhile, a Moneyfields friendly at the John Jenkins Stadium on Tuesday, July 28 (7.45pm) will involve a Pompey XI in the form of the Academy.
