Exclusive:Portsmouth boss confirms late transfer window charge as player push is launched
The Pompey boss sets the scene for the final days of the transfer window, with a busy period of trading expected before the 11pm deadline on Tuesday night.
John Mousinho has confirmed Pompey have been given the green light for their late transfer window charge.
The Blues boss insisted his club are ready to go, as they prepare to launch a late flurry of activity after raising the bar in terms of spending this summer.
Mousinho on transfer window finale: ‘We’re ready to go’

Pompey are in the market for three more players before the end of trading at 11pm next Tuesday, with a full-back, central midfielder and versatile attacker sought.
Burton Albion’s Tyrese Shade is wanted at PO4 with there a long-held interest in the 26-year-old, who is valued in the region of £2m by the Brewers.
On Wednesday night Pompey were touted for a move for Casa Pia midfielder Iya Mohamed, though it remains to be seen how any deal for the Comoros international works with the confines of the work permit rules the club must adhere to.
Liverpool’s Luke Chambers and Sheffield United’s Rhys Norrington-Davies are being touted as full-back considerations, though Blades boss Chris Wilder has indicated his player is not ‘going anywhere at this particular moment’.
Pompey’s incomings will have to be offset by a large amount of exits or players being deregistered, as they work to the EFL’s 25-man squad rules.
And there’s interest from Championship big spenders Birmingham City in Adrian Segečić to consider, as they circle for the attacking ace.
Taking everything into consideration, Mousinho sees his club in a positive position to finish their summer trading in positive fashion.
He told The News: ‘We’re in a good spot - and now we have a good few days to really capitalise on that start.
‘It’s an interesting one. I think we’re in a good position but if we add a little bit more (that would be ideal).
‘We’re all on board with that after a call with the owners on Tuesday. We’re under no illusions - we’re ready to go.
‘It’s about getting them done, getting the deals done and getting deals done that don’t hurt the football club by spending money just for the sake of it.
‘One thing I’ve learned over the past three-and-a-half years is if the player’s in front of you, you have the money and you think we may as well just take them because we have the money, it’s not worth doing it. You end up being lumbered for them for too long, if it doesn’t work out.
‘So it’s about being smart and there’s limits within the new regulations.
‘So we’re in a good position with money to spend, if not on transfer fees then on wages. I think we’re okay.
‘I don’t know how the end to the window will affect how I feel about what’s happened so far, but I think when we see the impact of some of the players we’ve brought in we can feel positive about what we’ve got.’
