'Baffles me. Selling fans short' - How Portsmouth faithful reacted to defeat to Swansea on social media

Pompey fans have been airing their disappointment following the Blues’ Fratton Park defeat at the hands of Swansea

Pompey fans on social media have been reacting to the Blues’ defeat at the hands of Swansea on Tuesday night.

John Mousinho’s side fell to their eighth Fratton Park defeat of the season at the hands of the Swans, who also heightened concerns about the threat of relegation from the Championship at the end of the campaign.

Indeed, the defeat leaves Pompey just four points above the relegation zone - a gap, however, that could be narrowed on Wednesday night, with Oxford United, Blackbun Rovers and West Brom all in action.

Following the loss, the Fratton faithful pinpointed a number of factors they believed contributed to another disappointing match-day at PO4.

Here’s the key areas which our followers on Facebook felt let the Blues down against Vitor Matos’ side.

Jacqui Frontrow: It was a diabolical first half, for some Pompey fans to boo as they left the field shows that they have been pushed to the limit of their love for the club.

Alex Bennett: Hate to say it as I’ve always liked Bishop but Brown should have stayed on and Bishop made way. Formation didn’t work with one upfront, was obvious.

Danny Cousins: 2 centre halves on the bench both with Championship experience and he chooses to play a novice. I am a great admirer of JM but this baffles me. Currently I do not believe there are 2 worse teams in the league. Lack of investment will come back to haunt us.

Keith Wilkes: So with three No10s on the bench what tactical mastetplan played Browne in that role. He scored a good goal but totally lost in first half.

Sharon Ayriss: Defo needs to drop Bishop.

Mike Lindopp: Threw it away in the first half. 2nd better but not good enough. Subs on too late again. Cannot understand why Bishop remained on.

Philip Mcgoldrick: This is going to the wire. What is Jm up to? I am a pompey supporter. From 73, but this team is lost. How can a team beat Charlton and Millwall and then serve up this dross?

Jim Beck: In the context of the importance of the match that is one of the most disgustingly inept performances I’ve seen particularly first half where they showed zero fight, attacking intent, ball retention and looked genuinely scared by the occasion. Bishop now a liability and Alli showing why he wasn’t in the Luton team. This team is in genuine trouble and the failure to secure an effective striker may bite us.

Mike Fitpro: They need to get their act together quickly or were going back to League One.

Paul Turner: Criminal, selling the fans short.

Graham Doel: So have Bishop and we have Brown, Brown got the goal, Bishop didn't look like scoring, and we take Brown off. Unbelievable.
