'Relegation fodder. Lost the plot' - how Portsmouth faithful have been reacting to 10th Championship defeat of season at Swansea

Pompey fans have been venting their frustrations on social media following Tuesday night’s defeat at Swansea

Pompey fans on social media have been having their say on Tuesday night’s defeat at fellow Championship strugglers Swansea.

And it’s fair to say tempers are wearing thin - big time!

The 1-0 loss in south Wales was the Blues’ 10th of the season and third in a row, leaving John Mousinho’s side encamped in the bottom three and two points from safety.

As a result, the series threat of relegation back to League One hangs over the club as their poor run of form shows no sign of an upturn.

It’s, therefore, no surprise that members of the Fratton faithful are getting anxious as they continue to look enviously up the Championship standings.

Here’s a selection of the views they’ve shared on our Facebook page since the final whistle blew at Swansea. And, be warned, there’s no-one off limits, with the manager, the owners and players all in the crossfire after another poor performance.

What Pompey fans have been saying following defeat at Swansea

Mike Kellagher: We are actually going down now. I’ve been in denial, but tonight I’ve made my peace with it.

Rachel Evans: I really feel we lost our commitment and passion when Ritchie left. He was the heartbeat of the team and a great leader. I'd have had him in as much as possible. We need to turn this around and quick.

Ian Nisbeck: The worst drive I’ve can remember to a match and I started 100 miles nearer than most Pompey fans, so I feel really sorry for them. Such an insipid performance again. Sleep walking into relegation. Plenty of blame to go round, but for me the owners are complacent and lacking in ambition.

Phil Jones: Bring back Harry before it's too late. Actualy, it probably is too late.

Matt Ralph: Very poor show and they will know it - not thinking and losing simple passes all night and being muscled out the game, rinse and repeat. We need to get the confidence back asap.

Sean Glew: We will need the best January transfer window ever if we’re going to give ourselves a chance to stay up. Unfortunately there’s not three teams worse than us in the Championship!!

Clive Fountain: Results speak for themselves! Change now or it will be too late!

Dave Goodwin: Low confidence… team looks lost of ideas… motivation!!… low ball hoof... if u can’t beat teams around u its worrying.

There's Only 1 F'in Fratton: That game was extremely winnable. Swansea were really poor and it was an awful game to watch... Relegation fodder I'm afraid and change needed quickly!

Ash Kellaway: He's gotta go. He's lost the plot. We were saved last season because the multiple teams much worse than us. This season we don't have that to rely on and look at what is happening. Poor summer signings haven't helped things but playing players out of position in formations and tactics that don't work. We don't even have a Plan A. Let alone Plan B or even C. It's throw them onto the field and hope for the best.

Keith Gunn: For far too long we have been told let’s just get all our players back and kick on from there, like soooo many other supporters have been saying. These players just seem to be going through the motions and not that interested for whatever reason rather playing for the shirt. They seem to be of the mind “we still get our paycheck”.

Paul Ellis: Coaching/tactics are abysmal. We look like a Sunday league pub team. The midfield is so slow and all we do is back to the keeper or flaff about in our own half. All teams we play are attacking all the time.

Ray Fogwill: He's lost the players and lost the plot. Wrong team, wrong tactics. Star players’ attitude awful.

Gary Mitchell: When are these owners going to realise the money you spend on players is not enough and loan players aren't the answer.

Steve Oliver: We are devoid of Ideas and that is down to Mousinho and his coaching team so it is time for them to be replaced.

Malcolm Mclaren-Clark: Lackadaisical, caught in possession time and again. Too slow moving the ball and when we did it was staight to a Swansea player. No pressing, marking poor and all too easy for them. Players looked disinterested.
