Portsmouth make four changes and spring a surprise for south-coast derby against Southampton

The Blues name their team for the south-coast derby

Pompey have made four changes for the south-coast derby, including a surprise goalkeeping decision.

Nicolas Schmid has been recalled in place of Daniel Bielica, with the Pole having started the previous four matches, keeping two sheets.

Schmid’s previous appearance at St Mary’s saw him suffer a broken wrist in September 2025 - and John Mousinho has opted to bring him back for the return.

With Conor Shaughnessy not ready to feature following a groin injury, Regan Poole partners Madiodio Dia in the centre of defence.

There is also a recall for Colby Bishop following his goal against Blackburn, although Marko Milovanovic is named on the bench after recovering from injury.

Effectively Bishop replaces Adrian Segecic, who drops to the bench, with Tyrese Shade drops back from centre-forward, while Ebou Adams comes in for Rocco Shein.

Meanwhile, Keshi Anderson is included for his first Pompey squad of the season, having been named on the bench following injury.

Pompey: Schmid, Swanson, Dia, Poole, Meghoma, Pack, Adams, Kamara, Shade, Kavuma-McQueen, Bishop.

Subs: Bielica, Segecic, Shein, Anderson, Devlin, Bailey, Milovanovic, Kenny, Mohamed.
