Pompey slipped to successive Championship defeats after late, late heartbreak against Sheffield United.
John Mousinho’s men should have established a comfortable first-half lead, only to spurn a glut of goal-scoring opportunities and end up going in at the break 0-0.
They didn’t offer as much of a threat after the break, yet still had their moments and were still the better team.
However, on a Blades counter-attack following a Pompey free-kick, Andre Brooks slid the ball into the net at the far post for a 90th-minute winner.
And here are our Pompey player ratings...

9. Adrian Segecic - 6
Fired a powerful shot straight at the keeper in the first half, yet struggled to get himself involved throughout the match. Corner delivery much improved compared to Preston. Photo: Graham Hunt

10. John Swift - 7
(Replaced by Marlon Pack on 71 mins) Handed his first start since New Year’s Day and looked a different player. Handed a more attacking role, looked bright, tried to make things happen and one curling right-foot shot flew just wide. Photo: Graham Hunt
11. Millenic Alli - 8
Had one glorious first-half chance after Tanganga’s clearance ricocheted off him to put the winger through, but left-footed shot was straight at the keeper. Another flashed across goal with the keeper’s touch for a corner and there was also a late chance. Yet again Pompey’s best attacking player and the most likely to create something. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages

12. Colby Bishop - 6
Back into the side after recovering from an ankle injury and had a goal ruled out on 23 minutes after Adams was adjudged to have fouled in the build up. Had one great headed chance from a Segecic first-half corner. Photo: Graham Hunt
