We asked the Portsmouth fans whether John Mousinho's side have enough to stay in the Championship? Here's how they reponded

Blues fans have been sharing their verdicts after we asked them: Do you think Pompey have enough to remain in the Championship this season?

The reaction in the away end at Loftus Road on Saturday said it all really.

With the fans turning on the players, the manager and the club owners following a disastrous 6-1 hammering at the hands of QPR, confidence among the Fratton faithful is at a level not seem in quite some time at PO4.

According to club captain Marlon Pack the international break has come at the perfect time for the Blues, who have lost five of their past six games and collected just one point from 18.

He believes it will give the players the chance to regroup ahead of the final eight games of the season, which begins with a trip to Norwich on Friday, April 3.

But will pressing the reset button over the next week or so prove too little, too late? Is the damage already done? Is confidence within the first-team squad repairable at this late stage of the season?

According to the vast majority of our followers on Facebook, they see no way back now this season.

The News asked them the simple question: Do you think Pompey have enough to remain in the Championship this season? And despite the Blues remaining above the relegation zone by just one point following Saturday’s embarrassing display at QPR, they displayed next to no confidence in the Blues staying in the second tier beyond May.

Here’s a selection of the responses they provided and their explanations why they are so negative about Pompey’s survival hopes.

Pompey fans have their say on Blues’ fight for Championship survival

Nick Jeffery: Get agent Harry in for rest of season to work alongside Mous. If it’s confidence and motivation needed, we’re definitely down to bare bones…

Des King: With JM at the helm and barn door Bishop our star striker, very doubtful.

Kevin Marden: No, and I’m normally optimistic with Pompey. Saw nothing in the last 2 home games and well Saturday’s result says it all.

Can’t look at any player and think they could impact our run in. Predictable football that is easy to manage against with let’s be honest pretty poor players at this level.

Can blame numerous people at all levels at the club but it won’t change where we are currently heading. Disappointing to throw this away with no fight considering the 10 odd years before getting back to this level.

Doug McEwen: I was there Saturday. After that abominable performance I am afraid I must say we have NO chance.

Al Murphy: Not while there is water in the sea and there is air in the sky.

We bought a First Class ticket to League 1 the day we failed to address our striker problem. I could see it, you could see it but apparently the club didn't!

Matt Backhouse: Pompey have the worst form by far of all the teams down the bottom (with the exception of SW), plus with a manager like JM - who despite losing 6-1 still thinks his team played ‘well’ - we have absolutely no chance whatsoever as nothing will change.

Bringing in a caretaker manager of senior experience at this level for the last few games seems the only viable option now.

Paul Shergold: I hope we survive but I can't see the desire or killer instinct.

Gary Saunders: Unfortunately it’s a big NO

Adrian Parish: What’s the point. Even if we do next season will be more of the same under the current owners.

Duncan Fitch: They have over the last four games proved that they are unable to turn it around. Three wins and a couple of draws to be safe!!! I can’t see that, but it’ll be an interesting end to the season.

Chris Collier: Well doable - 2 key home games - win both we stay up - but they are must not lose games now.

Kevin Stokes: No but if by some miracle we do we’ll only be in this same position again next year because the Eisners are clearly not prepared to spend the kind of money needed to compete in the Championship.

Clive Edmonds: Percentage chances are dropping by the game. At about 10% at the moment in my opinion.

Chris Barter: It looked like it after Charlton and Millwall, but not now. Tough run in, too.

Ted Edwards: Don’t deserve to stay up the way we’ve played this season.
