'As good as down. We're done. Going down with a whimper' - Portsmouth fans say same thing after 6-1 hammering at QPR
Pompey slumped to a 6-1 defeat at QPR on Saturday - a result that leaves them in real danger of a return to League One
Pompey fans on social media have been reacting to the Blues’ 6-1 hammering at the hands of QPR at Loftus Road.
Here’s what members of the Fratton faithful have been saying after John Mousinho’s side produced their worst performance of the season to drop to 21st in the Championship table going into the international break.
@SullyBen: Don’t see how we stay up after that. Our defence has been one of our strengths, so it’s alarming that we now look vulnerable defensively.
Then you add in that we lack quality in the final third and things look really bleak.
@HazzaTWood96: A nightmare away day at QPR. All I can say atm is it's extremely challenging to see Pompey pull something out to stay up.
Something needs to change/give to get things going again. Us Fratton Faithful deserve better than this dross.
@gusbaxter98: We go down if things stay the same. We need a change of system or a change in manager. Preferably system.
@InfamousDemigod: That's rough. Something has to give.
@3LadsInThePub: As good as down.
@capfc11: And to think some people paid £39 to watch that!! Players & coaching staff should be embarrassed!! Going down with a whimper.
@ChefPaul41: 6? Pompey. Relegation would be what you deserve at this rate. Hang your heads in shame.
@Neyyfun17: We went into a must win game and we’re 3-0 down in 30 mins and lost 6-1. Anyone who went today should be refunded and the players need to sort it out because the tactics are never going to change.
@AndyHaynes147: If we do stay up, the amount of second hand embarrassment I would feel for the club we rob of a place in this league will be off the scale. Absolute dross.
@officialfournil: Nothing I saw today is telling me anything else other than we’re done, we’re down. Worst reaction to a #Pompey defeat from an away end I’ve seen for a very long time. Horrific feeling.
@Lawro77: Absolutely staggering that we aren’t in the bottom 3!
@PompeyAlex: Yeah. We’re done. No way we’re staying up.
