16 superb pictures of Portsmouth fans back pitchside and getting behind their team during pre-season

More than 10 weeks had passed since Pompey were last in action against Birmingham City on the final day of the 2025-26 season.

So the Blues’ return to game time last week, albeit in pre-season friendlies, will have been a godsend for those fans who live and breathe the club.

Consecutive nights saw John Mousinho’s side take to the fields of non-league Woking and Aldershot as the team’s preparations for the forthcoming 2026-27 season gathered real momentum.

A trip to League Two Bristol Rovers then followed on Saturday, giving the Fratton faithful the chance to return to a welcome weekend tradition that they will have missed over the close season.

New arrivals Odin Bailey and Eoin Kenny featured in all three games last week, which will have been a treat for those fans in attendance.

Meanwhile, the trip to the Memorial Stadium offered supporters their first glimpse of latest addition Rocco Shein, who made his Pompey debut in the 1-1 draw against The Gas.

The Rovers fixture also saw John Mousinho give former £8m winger and triallist Arvin Appiah the chance to impress and earn a move to Fratton Park - another one of the advantages associated with these pre-season games.

There is of course more to come, both game-wise and in terms of player incomings, over the weeks ahead.

Indeed, Pompey return to action on Saturday with a trip to Wycombe.

In the meantime, here’s some fans’ images from the trips to Woking, Aldershot and Bristol Rovers.
