Portsmouth fans all agree on one thing following much-needed win at Sheffield Wednesday
Pompey picked up their seventh win of the season with a 1-0 victory at Sheffield Wednesday
Pompey fans on social media have been reacting to the Blues’ 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday.
And they’ve all been saying the same thing - it’s the three points that matter!
In what proved to be a scrappy affair with little quality on show, John Mousinho’s side secured the valuable three points on offer thanks to Adrian Segecic’s 65th-minutes effort off the post.
With nearest rivals Norwich securing a 2-1 win at Wrexham, the Aussie’s fifth goal of the season proved huge as it allowed the Fratton Park side to retain their position outside of the Championship’s relegation zone.
It also enabled the Blues to close the gap on Blackburn Rovers, who sit directly above them in the standings, following their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Ipswich.
Pompey fans who watched the game know what they witnessed at Hillsborough wasn’t pretty. But they aren’t getting too hung up on that, with the Fratton faithful knowing it was all about the three points today.
Here’s what they’ve been saying after Mousinho’s troops secured only their second away win in the league this season.
Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Pompey: What Blues supporters have been saying
@PompeyFlag: A poor, low quality game between 2 struggling sides, but 3 points and a clean sheet away from home for #Pompey is all that matters.
Hopefully more signings to come in and the new lads will get to settle in quickly. Just wish Chaplin would drive and shoot more.
@PDThomas75: The worst ever example of a Championship fixture, however a wins a win!
@LiamWilliams444: Three Massive Points! It Wasn’t A Great Performance But We Did Enough To Get What Was Required. Roll On Next Week!!
@RJWilkins_: Things to take away. Alli looked bright, Adams will run through brick walls for you and most importantly 3pts.
@Samalaaarr: Was never going to be pretty, main thing was we got it done.
@capfc11: My god that was a hard watch but all in all the 3pts was the most important thing and we got them so job done!!
@beiderbecks: It doesn’t matter who we beat, it doesn’t matter how we beat them either. A wins a win! #Pompey
@mcooperargus: Take that all day long. New boys did good.
@Daveyboy1995: Weren't the prettiest of games, but main thing was that we came away with the 3 points! Big win that.
@ChrisRe43862970: Results far out weigh performances from now on in good 3 points.
@TommoOnX: Done what we needed to do, get in.
