The Bluebirds defender was not punished by referee Ben Speedie following the 72nd-minute incident, although the Pompey fan was shown out of the stadium by match-day stewards.

Following an investigation, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have announced an out-of-court disposal has subsequently been agreed between the supporter and Bielik.

As part of the resolution, the player has apologised to the Pompey fan - and police insist no further action will now be taken.

A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary told The News: ‘Following an incident involving a Portsmouth FC supporter and a Cardiff player at Fratton Park on 5 September 2026, we have now concluded our investigation.

‘After speaking with the complainant and reviewing all available evidence, the matter has been resolved by way of an out-of-court disposal, agreed by all parties involved. As part of this resolution, an apology has been provided by the player.

‘The matter is now considered closed, and no further action will be taken in relation to this incident.’

At the time, Bluebirds head coach Brian Barry-Murphy afterwards claimed Bielik was ‘slapped in the face’, while footage on social media appears to show the footballer grabbing the youngster around his upper body.

‘As this remains a safeguarding matter and is currently under investigation by both the club and the police, it would be inappropriate for us to comment further on the circumstances at this time.

‘However, we are aware that a number of claims and assertions are circulating on social media. We would urge caution against speculation while enquiries are ongoing.

‘The welfare and safeguarding of young people are of paramount importance to Portsmouth Football Club.

‘We will continue to liaise with the relevant parties as enquiries progress. No further comment will be made at this stage while investigations remain ongoing.’

The FA have been contacted for a comment.
