Portsmouth axe Luton loanee amid three changes for huge Oxford United clash

John Mousinho has made three changes to his side for Oxford’s visit

Pompey have dropped Milli Alli for the crucial Championship relegation clash with Oxford United.

The Luton loanee had previously started 15 successive matches since his Fratton Park arrival, having made an impressive instant impact.

However, his performances on the wing have dropped off considerably over the last two months, prompting John Mousinho to omit him from the starting XI against the U’s.

Instead Keshi Anderson, who returned from a two-month hamstring injury at Norwich on Good Friday, is handed his first Pompey start.

They are among three changes to the side which claimed a late 1-1 draw at Carrow Road thanks to Pelle Mattsson’s own goal.

Luke Le Roux and Madiodio Dia, who had both surprisingly been named in Mousinho’s line-up against the Canaries, return to the bench.

Conor Shaughnessy and Andre Dozzell are handed recalls, with the fit-again pair having appeared as substitutes at Carrow Road.

Elsewhere, there is again no place in the squad for Makenzie Kirk, Ibane Bowat and Hayden Matthews.

Pompey: Schmid, Devlin, Poole, Shaughnessy, Ogilvie, Pack, Dozzell, Caballero, Chaplin, Anderson, Bishop

Subs: Bursik, Le Roux, Dia, Segecic, Alli, Blair, Brown, Swift, Williams.
