'Can't see any other outcome' - Portsmouth faithful far from positive as score predictions provided for trip to Norwich
Pompey fans have been sharing their predictions ahead of today’s trip to Norwich’s Carrow Road
Pompey will be accompanied by more than 2,000 members of the Fratton faithful for today’s game against Norwich.
With the away end at Carrow Road a sell-out, that’s a tremendous display of loyalty from Blues supporters, particularly after their last away day ended in a 6-1 hammering at the hands of QPR.
Despite this impressive show of force, though, are fans holding out much hope that they’ll see a Pompey win on the road or signs of life even that the players and manager are capable of turning their fortunes around as the threat of relegation continues to grow?
Pompey beat Norwich 5-3 at Carrow Road on Good Friday last season, a result that went a long way to securing their Championship status.
However, few believe similar heroics will be repeated today, with fans far from positive about their side’s chances ahead of their latest trip to Norfolk.
The News asked the Fratton faithful for their big-match predictions via its Facebook page. Here’s a glimpse into the general reaction...
Mark Walden: Defence will crack like an Easter egg.
Bazil Day: Pompey to win 3-1 or 4-1. We need that kind of reaction after the QPR result. Play Up Pompey.
Stephen Dore: 1-1 and Norwich will score both goals!!
Graham Filmer: Unfortunately, it’s likely to be 3-0.
Damian Dunn: Unfortunately I’m down as a 3-0 Norwich can’t see anything changing for the run in now
Stephen Toone: 0-4, Mous will put a weak side out like he normally does, hoping against hope we will beat Oxford on Monday
Shawn Woodward: Optimistic nil nil but more likely 9-0 Norwich.
Jim Callaway: If Pompey concede less than 6 goals it will be a win ....lol.
Dave Pine: Swanson up front 5-1 Norwich.
Matt Cooke: 2-0 Norwich, can't see pompey scoring today.
Andre Destecroix: JM will have used the break to continue doing same things that have never worked so player position lottery same formation, 3-0 Norwich.
Philip Smith: I fear for Pompey unless the players "stand up".
Sean Monnery: Smash and grab 2-1 Pompey win.
Paul Moon: Pompey to play Norwich off the park and lose to a 92 minute own goal..!
Connor Gilchrist: 4-0 Norwich I can't see any other outcome.
