Report: Portsmouth 'reach agreement' with Turkish side for international midfielder in €1m deal

News over a Pompey move for midfielder Jesper Ceesay this evening

Pompey are reportedly closing in on a move for midfielder Jesper Ceesay.

Turkish journalist Resat Can Ozbudak has stated the Blues have reached an agreement with Super Lig side Antalyaspor for the Gambia international.

The report states John Mousinho’s men have now agreed a €1m deal for the Swedish-born talent after reports in late July suggested any move was at a standstill.

It is now believed Pompey are close to securing Ceesay, who predominantly operates in the number six role - a position the head coach is looking to strengthen this summer.

The Blues have already added six new faces so far this summer, with Rocco Shein, Marko Milovanovic, Odin Bailey, Eoin Kenny, Daniel Bielica and Luke Brooke-Smith arriving through the doors at PO4.
