Pompey were last in action a month ago to the day as they brought the curtain down on their Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw against Birmingham City on May 2.
The 2025-26 season has, however, only just reached its conclusion in the Premier League and in other European top flights, with some leagues running as many as three weeks after the Blues’ final-day stalemate.
Although released and retained lists were announced across the EFL following the season’s conclusion, play-off outfits and top-flight sides are only just confirming who will stay or go this summer.
And there are plenty of former Pompey favourites who are now on the search for a new home during the upcoming transfer window.
