The Blues will be looking to follow up Saturday’s 1-0 win against Oxford United with progression in the Carabao Cup against the Royals.
The two sides met in pre-season just over a fortnight ago, with Pompey running out 4-0 winners at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Here’s how we think the Blues could line-up against Noel Hunt’s League One side.

9. RM: Minhyeok Yang
The Spurs signing was registered in time to face Oxford on Saturday and was thrown on by Mousinho to see out the final 30 minutes. Looked bright and lively on the left-hand side but could be utilised in his more natural position on the opposite flank this evening. Photo: Portsmouth FC
10. CAM: Terry Devlin
Devlin was another who made an impact off the bench over the weekend. With Swanson likely to start at right-back, Mousinho will no doubt utilise the 21-year-old’s versatility, which could see him start in the number 10 role - a position he featured in on Saturday, replacing Callum Lang. | Paul Phelan/ProSportsImages

11. LM: Florian Bianchini
After providing the assist for Waddingham’s winner against PEC Zwolle, Bianchini could’ve got his Fratton Park goal-scoring account underway against Oxford. However, the winger failed to convert a couple of key opportunities. Given Murphy’s current injury situation, the Swansea loanee could be the only player to retain his place in the starting XI. | Portsmouth FC

12. ST: Thomas Waddingham
Waddingham had an outstanding maiden pre-season at Fratton Park, scoring four times during the summer. Came on late in the game against Oxford but with Bishop likely to be rested and on the bench, there is no doubting Waddingham has the qualities to lead the line this evening. | Paul Phelan/ProSportsImages
