Pompey are back in action on Boxing day as they welcome high-flying QPR to Fratton Park.
The festive season is well and truly upon us, with the festive football coming thick and fast for the Blues.
John Mousinho’s men return to PO4 after last Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Derby County and are looking to end 2025 on a high note, with the Hoops and Charlton Athletic to come.
Here’s how we think Pompey could line-up against QPR for the Boxing Day showdown.

5. CB: Regan Poole
After a two-game absence due to injury, Poole made an instant comeback to the side at Pride Park. The popular Welshman has started 19 of Pompey’s 21 Championship fixtures this season. Photo: Graham Hunt

6. LB: Zak Swanson
Pompey have been given a significant fitness boost for Boxing Day, with Swanson back in training and back in contention. The versatile full-back has been outstanding in Connor Ogilvie’s absence at left-back in recent weeks but was a surprise absentee against Derby. 7. CM: Andre Dozzell
Dozzell continues to flourish in the engine room for Mousinho’s men and has missed just one of the Blues’ matches this term due to suspension. The 26-year-old will be chomping at the bit to impress against his former side. Photo: Graham Hunt

8. CM: Mark Kosznovszky
The Hungarian is quietly going about his business in the midfield and put in another gutsy display last time out. Despite a miss-placed pass causing some nerves in the first half against Derby, Kosnovszky did play a key part in Pompey’s brilliant opener at Pride Park, which has received plenty of plaudits on social media.
