With less than a month remaining in the campaign, the fight is on for Pompey to beat the drop to League One.
After Keshi Anderson’s brilliant early opener, John Mousinho’s men were dealt a costly blow soon after when Connor Ogilvie was controversially sent off by referee Josh Smith for a foul on Stan Mills just 17 minutes in.
Although Pompey held out to half-time, the U’s responded in the second half, with Brodie Spencer and Will Lankshear netting to turn the contest around.
There was further drama, though, when Andre Dozzell netted in the box with three minutes to play to earn the Blues’ a well-deserved point.
There are now six matches remaining in the season for Mousinho’s troops to maintain their Championship status for another season, but crucially have a game in hand on their rivals.
