Portsmouth's rearranged Championship game against Ipswich Town at Fratton Park postponed for second time

Pompey’s game against Ipswich Town this evening has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The Blues have announced persistent rain overnight and this morning , has put paid to tonight’s showdown, which was expected to get underway at 7.45pm.

It’s the second time the match has been called off, with the original fixture postponed due to a frozen pitch at Fratton Park at the start of January.

A statement from Pompey read: ‘GAME OFF. Pompey's clash with Ipswich has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

‘This is after persistent overnight rain, continuing into the morning and forecast to last until close to kick-off, has fallen on already saturated ground.’
