‘Portsmouth fans great… Shein’s impressive… very promising’: West Ham and Blues faithfuls react
It was a record crowd for the Carabao Cup first round at London Stadium and both Pompey and West Ham fans had plenty to say about the game’s events on Saturday. Here’s s selection of views from X (formerly Twitter).
JOB DONE. NEXT. Irons through to the next round. Tidy. Pompey Fans were magnificent. Beer to celebrate incoming. @1863Football
Sell out. Great @Pompey crowd. #coyi @WestHam @JasonSargood
Thought Marezi was continually getting in good goal scoring positions. Rocco looked very good. Add some wingers, Segeci in at 10, Adams into midfield and we wont be far off. Good signs #pompey. @OliverHarry
I know we’re all frustrated with Waddingham (+ others) injury records but feel bad for him tonight. Shocking challenge from the West Ham player and rather than backing our lad many are jumping on his back for being injured again. Hope he’s back soon and gets a look in. @PompeyPedro
We lose away at West Ham after taking the lead, result is disappointing but it wasn't a totally disappointing performance and West Ham's quality shone through in the end but still plenty to work on for Mousinho and the lads, PUP. @HazzaTWood96
Segecic is class, needs to learn to pass though. 3/4 times there was an easier option. Hopefully he can add that to his game! #pompey @snookerfan123
9,000 @Pompey fans here this afternoon, some support that. @BroadcastMoose
Mr Dyer not happy with the #Pompey fans @BluesNews_
Performed ok, Shein looks impressive, needs Adams along side him though NOT as the 10! Still a worryingly lack of attacking threat. We need a LB, CB, CM, LW, RW and a Striker all who can affect the starting lineup. @Rich03832303
Shein and Segecic clearly the two best players in the team LBS and Kenny good debuts. Besides switching off for 7 minutes of the whole game,we were the better side @NoahPfc
Very promising that! Think with some additions before start of season we will be okay. @Aaron25650310
